I recently formed part of a Finance Team working as an Assistant Financial Accountant on the Programme Support Unit (PSU) project at the Dept. of Education through BTKM working with Directors of Planning and Infrastructure Programmes preparing the project lists, IPIP, B5 budgets for the next 3 years for Provincial Treasury, assisting with the preparations for year-end audits, Reconciling Payment Certificates and Payment Vouchers to BAS and Expenditure to date and reviewing payment processes, creating audit trails for each payment entry for all high-value priority projects, reviewing the contract register, SLA’s and assist with Commitments and other ad-hoc activities.
I have extensive Project Administration and Project Management Consulting, Internal Auditing and Financial experience and knowledge gained throughout the years working as the Regional Project Manager at Dept. of Roads and Public Works through Business Connexion and Project Manager at EOH Mthombo (Pty) Ltd.
As the Regional Project Manager (Business Connexion), I formed part of a team that re-engineered Dept. of Roads and Public Works’ business processes, ensure effective planning and actively monitor regional staff in a way to ensure effective and efficient business processes are carried out and to ensure Annual Performance Indicators are achieved and supporting evidence are available for governance and assurance as well as financial year-end audit purposes.
As a Project Manager at EOH Mthombo (Pty) Ltd, I was involved in the management and administration of Public Sector Project Infrastructure Accounting (Expenditure Reviews, Costing, Lead Schedule, Commitments Registers and Disclosure Note) and Asset Management Project (Clearing up of the Movable Asset Register, looking at additions, exceptions, location, category, custodians, etc. of assets, disposals, losses and donations, written off assets by HOD for example, etc.) within the Dept. of Roads and Public Works. I formed part of the Project Management team which were involved on the HR Document Management and Digitalization Project for the Dept. of Education whereby we planned and implemented the collection of all HR documents in all 23 districts in the Eastern Cape and facilitating the scanning thereof as part of the digitization project. I was also being given the opportunity and responsibility as Acting Project Manager to run with the mSCOA project (Municipal Standard Charter of Accounts) at the Amathole District Municipality enrolled into all municipalities during 2016. I rendered Auditing Services for Price Waterhouse Coopers as an Independent Contractor in 2014 for a project at National Public Works in Port Elizabeth and assisted A&R Project Management and Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd in the Business Development sector. I further gained Banking, Sales, Human Resource, Administrative and Financial background through the years working at ABSA Bank Limited (External Sales and Investment Consultant: 3 years) and SBV Services (HR & Finance Administrator: 3 years).
